What is STCW 95, is this the same as STCW 2010?
Sometimes referred to as STCW 78, 95 & 2010, STCW is the standards of training, certification and watchkeeping for seafarers and basically covers the requirements for all Maritime training. The publication is occasionally updated to reflect new training and certification requirements. The latest edition is 2011 and reflects the changes agreed to in 2010. All our training programs adhere to the latest STCW standards.
Who needs STCW Basic Training?
The course is required for anyone working on a ship or a yacht, as part of the crew and the vessels emergency response.
Is the 2-day STCW Basic Training the same as the 5-day Basic training?
Yes. The blended program is the same approval as the 5 day course, however the 2 day blended program consists of a combination of online training and attending 2 days of practical’s at one of our facilities. The 2 days fulfill the practical requirements for Fire Fighting, Personal Survival Techniques and Basic First Aid/CPR. On successful conclusion you receive your certification.
How does the 2 Day STCW Basic Training Work?
The requirement is that you complete the online theory courses prior to attending the 2 days of practical’s.
